  • Fused Topographical squares

A New Approach to Dimensional Design

Take your glasswork beyond the flat surface in this innovative fused glass class focused on texture, depth, and sculptural form. Using a specialized 1/8" fiber felt blanket designed to withstand high kiln temperatures without bonding to glass, participants will explore a unique layering technique that creates striking topographical effects.

Students will design and cut shapes from the fiber material, stacking and arranging them to build dimensional relief patterns. As the glass fuses over these forms, it captures intricate textures and contours, resulting in a dynamic three-dimensional glass square.

This class is perfect for artists looking to expand their creative process and experiment with unconventional methods. The combination of texture, depth, and structure will elevate your fused glass work and open the door to exciting new design possibilities.

No prior experience with this technique is required—just a willingness to explore and create.

Your Gift Today CREATES a Space for Everyone Tomorrow!

ADA compliance isn’t just a goal - it’s a promise to our community.

In December 2024, Pearl River Glass Conservatory received a Building Fund for the Arts Grant from the MISSISSIPPI ARTS COMMISSION. This grant is a portion of the more than $1.7 million in grants MAC awarded in Fiscal Year 2025 and will be used to improve the Conservatory studio space - to meet ADA standards, restore our historic windows to allow for natural light and build out a new pottery space (also ADA accessible).

Help us raise the needed matching funds so our accessibility renovation can begin.

We are very grateful to MAC and our supporters! Join us for a creative 2025!

Join us in creating, preserving, and experiencing innovations in art Glass!

As Pearl River Glass Studio moves into its 50th year, our sister non-profit is building an art community. Watch this space and Pearl River Glass Studio website and social media for opportunities to help us celebrate this 50th year! Thank you!
